ABOUT THE 2020 McNIFICENT 7 FUND

Community groups across Scotland are the backbone of our society providing friendship, humour, help and support. Every community group is different, yet each is important and inspiring to those who rely on their hard work.

Do you know of a group that needs our help? Is it a group which make it their mission to end loneliness amongst older people, or those who spend hours every week providing a safe space for young people on sport pitches or community centres?

This year we are looking to help community groups who deserve recognition and extra funding. There are no limits on who can apply for funding, we are simply looking to help at least 7 community groups or charities with a funding boost of up to £1000. The fund will be open for 7 months, and each month one lucky group, charity or project will be awarded up to £1000 to spend on a scheme that develops that community spirit and benefits the greater good.

It’s all about championing those who go the extra mile to make sure their community is the best they can be, and our McNificent 7 programme celebrates that McNificent effort and embodies the very honest, hard-working and caring culture in Scotland.
